Hand painted in extraordinary detail, this stunning, cobalt blue stained glass panel depicts a section of wing from the 'Giant Blue Morpho' butterfly. Based upon the artist's own macro photographs of a real specimen, the leadwork mirrors the delicate veins of the butterfly wing, creating a fractal pattern through which the glass panels shine.

Stained Glass is a wonderful way to bring colourful light into any living space. The bright blue textured glass sends gorgeous patterns dancing across the room when the sun shines through, and unusually, due to the iridescent surface painting, this panel holds real interest and beauty even after the sun sets. Just as beautiful close up as it is when viewed from across a room, this unique piece draws people toward it, like butterflies to blooms! A gorgeous gift to yourself or a loved one; perfect for any occasion.

Made from rolled Wissmach Cobalt Blue cathedral glass, this contemporary design is constructed in the traditional lead channel method. Each individual glass panel was carefully hand cut, ground and painstakingly painted with tiny individual brush marks to create the delicate 'powdered' effect of the butterfly's wing. Leadwork and solder is 'blackened' to make the stunning blue really 'pop'.

This panel is finished with slim lead 'U came' and *does not have hanging brackets attached*. This is to retain the panel's sleek and unencumbered look, and the new owner's ability to choose the method of display that's right for them. The panel can be leant against a window or against other objects on a sunny surface (secure with some 'Museum Wax' for extra security), and looks stunning in a simple stained glass stand like the one pictured. Alternatively you could set the panel into a frame to allow it to stand or hang. The possibilities are really endless! Feel free to contact me should you have any questions at all.
